CZ DUTY 4.0 C

East Tennessee carries a lot of 9mm, and the CZ DUTY 4.0 is the newest option in the optics-ready service class. CZ moved to a serialized modular chassis for this gun, which sits inside a fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame, and paired it with a refined SFDA trigger: 5.6 pounds, 9 mm of travel, 4 mm of reset. The slide takes direct-mount red dots and keeps fixed sights for backup.

Knoxville and Maryville buyers after a carry pistol should start with the C compact, 15+1 rounds, 770 g and 135 mm tall. Up in Oak Ridge, Morristown or out toward Tazewell and La Follette, where the gun lives by the bed or in the truck, the F full-size with 17+1 is the better fit. MS versions of each add a manual thumb safety. All four share the 4-inch barrel, 7.4-inch length and $729 MSRP.

Capacity on the carry-size is 15+1, with a 17+1 option through the longer base plate. Height is 5.3 in (135 mm) and the empty weight 27.2 oz (770 g). If you carry, this is the DUTY to look at; if you mostly shoot at the range, see the F.

Under the DUTY name sits a serial-numbered modular chassis, a 1.3 in (33 mm) wide fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame, a 102 mm barrel and a trigger CZ rates at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) with a 0.16 in (4 mm) reset. The slide is optics-ready by direct mount rather than an adapter plate. Fixed sights come standard, and the barrel is not threaded.

No manual thumb safety here. The firing pin block, trigger safety and drawbar safety handle drop safety, and the holster handles the rest. CZ sells the same gun with a thumb lever as the MS model.

The CZ DUTY 4.0 C suits anyone who wants a modern optics-ready 9mm with CZ's grip and a trigger that is better than the class average: concealed carry where your state allows it, home defense, and range time that does not need a full-frame grip.

Choose your DUTY 4.0 and name the Tennessee dealer you want it shipped to. Tennessee has no permit to purchase and no state waiting period; your dealer runs the TICS background check at pickup. Ammo and gear ship direct to you. Price and stock are verified live when you order, before you pay.

Questions buyers ask: What check does a Tennessee dealer run at pickup? The TICS background check. There is no permit to purchase and no state waiting period in Tennessee. Can I run a red dot and still have iron sights? Yes. The DUTY 4.0 slide is direct-mount optics-ready and the fixed sights remain in place; CZ's own photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield optics fitted. Does the CZ DUTY 4.0 C take CZ P-10 magazines? CZ lists the DUTY with its own 15-round magazine and an longer base plate for 17+1. P-10 magazine fit is not confirmed, so plan on DUTY magazines.
