Description
The Tac Con 3MR Trigger replaces your AR-15’s factory trigger with a mechanical reset system that reduces lock time and improves shot-to-shot consistency. It’s a purpose-built upgrade for shooters who demand repeatable performance without compromising reliability.
What you get
- Mechanical reset trigger (MRT) system for faster follow-up shots
- 3.5 lb single-stage pull weight with crisp break
- Hardened steel components with nickel Teflon coating
- Tool-less overtravel adjustment
- 100% US-made construction
- Compliant with federal regulations (not a binary or forced reset trigger)
Build and finish
The Tac Con 3MR uses a proprietary hammer and sear geometry that eliminates the need for springs to reset the trigger. Instead, recoil energy drives the reset mechanism—a design that reduces lock time to approximately 1.5ms compared to the 4-6ms of standard AR triggers. The hammer and trigger are CNC-machined from 8620 alloy steel, then nickel-plated and coated with Teflon for wear resistance.
Unlike polymer-housed triggers, the 3MR uses a solid aluminum housing that maintains alignment under rapid fire. The adjustment screw for overtravel is knurled for tool-free tuning and locks in place with a nylon-tipped set screw. All bearing surfaces are polished to reduce friction, and the entire assembly weighs just 3.2 oz—lighter than most mil-spec trigger groups.
Compatible platforms
- AR-15/M4 pattern rifles (civilian models)
- Pistol-caliber AR platforms (9mm, .45 ACP, etc.)
- AR-10/LR-308 with minor modification (requires .154″ hammer pin)
- Not compatible with AK platforms or SIG MCX
Installation notes
Installs like any drop-in AR trigger using standard pins. The housing has anti-walk tabs, but we recommend using KNS anti-rotation pins for high-round-count use. Test function with safety checks before live firing—the reset mechanism requires proper bolt carrier group cycling to function as designed.
Jovino Gun Shop carries this and other specialized triggers because we understand the difference a quality fire control group makes. Whether you’re building a competition rifle or want to improve your carbine’s practical accuracy, the Tac Con 3MR delivers measurable performance gains without gimmicks.
